Une trahison interne complique la situation : Bruno Montroché, ambitieux et déloyal, prépare un coup d'État contre le Roi d'Ys, Vladimir-François de la Tour Noire, et compte livrer le manuscrit à Yanneck Barnov de l'Ordre Uni du Temple Occidental.
